Schools in Comanche County’s Unified School District 300 are highly rated throughout Kansas in academics, athletics, and performing arts. The county’s educational program was strengthened by the consolidation of USD 300 schools in 1999.

Residents combined the traditions and strengths of the Wilmore Tigers, Protection Panthers, and Coldwater Eagles to form the South Central Timberwolves.

Students from preschool through eighth grade attend South Central Elementary/Middle School in Protection. They then attend South Central High School in Coldwater. Small classes provide a low pupil-to-teacher ratio and give students opportunities to participate in more activities.

School Schedule

School days are Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
